i have a distributed systems exam in exactly 2 weeks, October 10th
 
 
this is a famously hard course at UIUC and  i want to ace this midterm
 
 
 
the syllabus for this exam includes -

2. hadoop
 
3. gossip protocols
 
4. failure detectors
 
5. memberships
 
6. grids
 
7. p2p systems - chord, gnutella, pastry, fastrack, bittorrent, kelips, napster
 
8. cassandra + key/value stores
 
9. time and ordering
 
10. misc. cloud computing topics
 
 
 
idek what the format of the exam is yet, so i'm going to prep for everything
 
 
for the next 2 weeks, i'm going to spend a bunch of time trying to master these topics and going to document/make notes about each topic here
